Job Summary
Lead liaison between MISO and key members/market participants, engaging with senior-level stakeholders (VPs, CFOs, COOs) to resolve policy and operational issues, coordinate with internal subject matter experts, and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance the MISO member experience. Drive collaboration across Regulatory Affairs, Stakeholder Relations, Operations, and Planning to support regional goals, strengthen customer relationships, and proactively mitigate issues. Responsibilities include serving as primary liaison to customers, regulators, and internal teams; delivering operational reports; representing MISO at regulatory meetings; supporting education and outreach (MISO 101 sessions, stakeholder meetings, office tours, conferences); leading operational calls during weather events; onboarding new members; participating in GridEx and other drills; and presenting at seminars and roadshows. Required skills include a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), extensive industry experience (16+ years with 20 preferred), strong communication, leadership ability, knowledge of energy markets, and familiarity with NERC/FERC requirements, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and project planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Management, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 16 years of relevant industry experience (20 preferred)
- 10 years in either System, Market, Planning or Reliability Operations
- At least 3 years managing projects or teams
- Strong understanding of bulk power systems, NERC and FERC requirements, energy markets, and emergency operations
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of MISO Capacity and Transmission Emergency procedures
- Familiarity with NERC compliance requirements and energy market operations
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and project planning
