Job Summary

Act as the Actuarial & Analytics Center of Excellence, providing thought leadership and hands-on execution support across pricing, reserving, analytics, data, and related functions. Research and evaluate emerging actuarial techniques, software platforms, and industry best practices to assess their applicability and value. Design, build, test, and deploy new actuarial methodologies, models, tools, and templates while collaborating with impacted teams to ensure solutions are scalable and adopted. Lead governance efforts including methodology standards, documentation, and review processes aligned with internal, regulatory, and professional expectations. Operate through influence rather than authority, leveraging dotted-line relationships with Actuarial and Analytics leaders to prioritize work through alignment with the SVP. Maintain strong actuarial credibility by remaining current on standards and selectively advancing innovations that provide tangible value. Serve as an enablement resource to functional teams, strengthening capability and consistency without owning day-to-day production responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Deep Property & Casualty actuarial experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible actuarial experience across multiple functional areas (e.g., pricing, reserving, analytics, modeling, or governance)
  • B.A. or B.S. with major in mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer science
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Columbus office
  • Candidates must reside and work within specific U.S. states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin
