Job Summary
Conduct customer technical engagements during pre-sales and early development phases, including presentations, architectural reviews, and product demonstrations for Industrial, Automotive, and IDM clients. Drive design-in activities and secure design wins for CPU IP licensing, custom silicon programs, and software solutions by bridging customer requirements with MIPS product portfolios. Provide technical guidance on processor IP integration, software toolchains, and system architecture while assisting customers in transitioning from evaluation to implementation. Partner with business development to support opportunity creation and translate customer feedback into actionable input for product and engineering teams. Support ecosystem engagement through workshops, demos, and industry events to position MIPS solutions within the broader semiconductor landscape.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline or similar
- 10+ years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or Design Engineering
- Experience in Semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems, Industrial, Automotive, or IDM electronics or related markets
- Proven track record supporting customer engagements and design wins
- Strong understanding of Industrial, automotive, or IDM electronic architectures (MCUs, SoCs, domain/zonal controllers)
- Familiarity with: Processor architectures, Embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS) and System-level design and integration
- Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate independently in a field-based role
- Hands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capability
- Ability to bridge technical depth with customer business needs
- Fluent in English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with RISC‐V ecosystem or CPU IP integration
- Prior experience supporting industrial, automotive, or IDM customers in North America
- Experience with SoC development and custom silicon implementation flows
- Understanding of functional safety standards or design requirements in Industrial & Automotive markets
