Job Summary
Lead CAD software engineering activities for automation projects at Medtronic, designing and applying CAD software methods, defining implementation approaches, developing routines and design specs, evaluating materials/vendors, and mentoring teammates. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic engineering or similar (or PhD) with 8+ years of relevant experience, expert PLC knowledge in manufacturing, and experience with vision systems (OCR/OCV); should be capable of managing complex projects and communicating effectively in English.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic engineering or similar and Minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR PhD
- Expert knowledge of PLCs with extensive programming and diagnosis experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of leading the full life cycle of introducing automated equipment from concept generation to commissioning & debug
- Experience specifying and validating vision systems: detection, measurement, OCR, OCV
- Experience with multi-national automation vendors and best-in-class automated process technology
- Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-site teams; mentoring/leading teammates
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English
