Job Summary
Coordinate the patient care process for individuals with psychiatric diagnoses, validating admissions to appropriate levels of care and ensuring compliance with third-party payor requirements. Conduct problem-oriented psychosocial assessments on all referred patients, identify barriers to timely discharge, and facilitate referrals to social services. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and alternate care providers to expedite the continuum of care while maintaining accurate productivity and statistical data. Provide patient and family education on community resources and serve as a resource for interpreting external regulations and organizational policies. Complete a clinical assessment using Emory electronic Medical Record data to obtain financial and clinical information, and participate in educational training programs for staff and students.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, LAPC or License Eligible
- Completion of a comprehensive internship in a psychiatric setting
- Licensure must be received within 90 days of employment
- BLS certification
- Experience with group counseling
- PRN Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Cover vacation/ sick leave
- No weekends
- Hour range between 9:30am-8pm
- 20-50 lbs
- 0-33% of the work day (occasionally)
- 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently)
- 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
- Lifting 50 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Occasional sitting
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Shift work
- Travel may be required
- Use of personal protective equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Will also consider candidates with Counseling degrees (LPC, LAPC, license eligible)
