Job Summary
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum while supporting pupils with SEMH needs, including anxiety, trauma, and emotional regulation difficulties. Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment using creative teaching approaches to re-engage learners who have struggled in mainstream education. Manage behaviour effectively through positive strategies and de-escalation techniques while collaborating closely with support staff and pastoral teams. This part-time role begins in September at Burgess Hill, offering small class sizes and ongoing professional development for dedicated teachers committed to rebuilding confidence and making education accessible for vulnerable learners.
Required Qualifications
- Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching within Primary education
- Has experience with, or a strong understanding of, SEMH and SEND
- Is calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
- Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
