Job Summary
KS2 Primary Teacher for a 3-month maternity-cover role at St. Ignatius Catholic School in George Town, Cayman Islands. Key responsibilities include providing pastoral, academic, and behavioural support to students; maintaining accurate records of student progress and utilizing formal assessment processes; supporting parents with referrals to external agencies as needed; collaborating with parents, staff, and students on Individual Education Plans; communicating effectively with parents through reports and meetings; and participating in and leading extra-curricular activities. Requirements include a recognised degree and PGCE/QTS or equivalent teaching qualification, at least three years of primary teaching experience, strong commitment to diverse teaching approaches, proficiency with educational technology, safeguarding knowledge, and a demonstrated track record of effective teaching. Salary ranges CI$4,500 to CI$5,625 per annum (tax-free) with benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance and pension contributions.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised degree in a related area from an accredited university
- PGCE, QTS or other internationally recognised teaching qualification
- At least three years of teaching experience in a primary school
- Proficiency in using modern educational information technology systems
- Up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection practices
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom practice in the subject, preferably externally verified
