Job Summary

Primary Care Regional Medical Directors will oversee Tufts Medicine Primary Care practices in the Greater Boston area, lead day-to-day operations and clinical practice oversight, develop longitudinal patient relationships, and drive quality-based goals through evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement. The role focuses on service and people-focused support for patients, providers, management, and staff; manages relationships with regional specialists to ensure high-quality local care; partners with executive leadership to implement business and medical strategies; collaborates with the clinically integrated network to advance value-based contracting, population health metrics, and cost-reduction targets; optimizes access to care via innovative care models including telehealth and efficient scheduling; leads organizational change and retention programs to ensure a qualified workforce across affiliated hospitals and markets; and engages with Tufts Medicine's commitment to academic leadership and community care. The role offers an academic appointment through Tufts University School of Medicine and aligns with Tufts Medicine’s mission to heal, comfort, teach, learn, and seek knowledge to promote health and prevent disease.

Required Qualifications

  • Tenured primary care physician with the acumen to lead our practices
  • Academic Appointment through Tufts University School of Medicine
  • experience leading primary care practices and driving performance in an integrated system
  • ability to manage day-to-day operations, clinical practice oversight, and staff engagement
  • leadership in quality-based goals, data-driven improvement, and population health initiatives
  • ability to work cross-functionally with executive leadership and regional specialists
  • experience with value-based contracting, access optimization, and telehealth-enabled care models
  • commitment to patient-centered, collaborative care delivery across multiple hospitals/markets
