Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive primary care for veterans aged 65+, assessing acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems using advanced clinical judgment. Supervise mid-level providers including nurse practitioners and physician assistants while participating in Medical Center committees and Continuous Quality Improvement teams. Diagnose and treat seriously ill, multi-symptomatic patients and integrate care programs with Social Work, Prosthetics, and Home Based Health Care. Document all cases in CPRS, establish measurable health education goals with patients, and complete mandatory facility-wide education annually. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Completed Internal Medicine Residency Training
Desired Qualifications
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Preferably 5 years of hospitalist experience
