Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive primary care for veterans aged 65+, assessing acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems while integrating care with social work, prosthetics, and home-based health programs. Supervise mid-level providers including nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and actively participate in Medical Center committees, Continuous Quality Improvement teams, and grading sessions for medical students and residents. Diagnose and treat seriously ill, multi-symptomatic patients, establish measurable health goals with patients and families, and maintain timely CPRS documentation. Complete mandatory annual education and self-directed learning activities to stay current on disease management and treatment developments.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Completed Internal Medicine Residency Training
Desired Qualifications
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Preferably 5 years of hospitalist experience
