Job Summary

Conduct primary care for veterans aged 65+ and older adults, utilizing advanced clinical judgment to diagnose acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems. Advise and clinically supervise mid-level providers including nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Assess patients through physical examinations, identify individual professional learning needs, and participate in formal education programs, workshops, and conferences. Integrate patient care activities with community programs such as social work, prosthetics, and home-based health care. Plan, implement, and evaluate care based on specific patient requirements while completing all medical record documentation in CPRS. Participate in Medical Center committees, Continuous Quality Improvement teams, and grading sessions for medical students and trainees. Establish measurable health education and treatment goals with patients and their families.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Completed Internal Medicine Residency Training

Desired Qualifications

  • Must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Preferably 5 years of hospitalist experience
