Job Summary
Assess veterans using advanced clinical judgment and physical assessment skills to diagnose acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems. Provide quality patient-centered care to outpatients aged 65+ while advising and clinically supervising mid-levels such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Identify individual professional learning needs and participate in formal programs, workshops, and seminars to complete facility-wide mandatory education yearly. Integrate patient care activities into Primary Care Services and community programs including Social Work, Prosthetics, and Home Based Health Care. Plan, implement, and evaluate care based on specific patient requirements, including establishing realistic health education and treatment goals with patients and families. Participate in Medical Center committees, Continuous Quality Improvement teams, and grading sessions for medical students and GME trainees.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Completed Internal Medicine Residency Training
Desired Qualifications
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Preferably 5 years of hospitalist experience
