Job Summary
Conduct primary care for adults and older adults (65+) at the Hemet VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, assessing veterans with advanced clinical judgment to identify acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems. Advise and clinically supervise mid-levels, medical students, and residents while participating in grading sessions. Actively engage in Medical Center committees, Continuous Quality Improvement teams, and facility programs enhancing patient care delivery. Integrate care activities with Social Work, Prosthetics, and Home Based Health Care programs. Establish realistic, measurable health education and treatment goals with patients and families, documenting all records in CPRS. Maintain expertise through formal and informal continuing medical education, completing mandatory yearly facility-wide education and self-directed learning activities.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Internal Medicine Residency Training
Desired Qualifications
- board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- 5 years of primary care experience
- 3 years of Recent Active Primary Care Clinical Practice with women's health experience
