Primary Care Physician (PCP)

Job Summary
Provide comprehensive primary care services to Veteran patients, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic conditions including respiratory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, dermatologic, ENT, eye, and urologic issues. Manage chronic diseases such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, hypertension, PTSD, and depression while adhering to VA medication policies. Document all care in the VA Electronic Health Record, select appropriate E&M codes, and complete QA/QI documentation. Participate in peer reviews, staff meetings, and report patient safety events within 24 hours. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, subject to change.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Current BLS and ACLs through the American Heart Association
- NPI report printout
- Active DEA license
- Has and maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
