Job Summary
The Primary Care Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting, focusing on diagnosing, treating, and managing various medical conditions. Responsibilities include developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and collaborating with healthcare staff for holistic patient care. Requires current unrestricted medical license in California, post graduate training in a relevant discipline, and active CPR/BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- A current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California (MD or DO)
- Post graduate training in a primary discipline such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or related specialty
- Hold an Active and Unrestricted DEA Registration, or be willing to obtain registration
- Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved) prior to Start Date
Desired Qualifications
- Board Certification in a relevant specialty is preferred
- Experience in a correctional facility or other setting with underserved cohorts is helpful
