Job Summary
The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care for individuals of all ages in a community health setting. Responsibilities include collecting and recording patient information, prescribing treatment and medication, diagnosing conditions through tests, monitoring progress, and referring patients to specialists. The physician also engages in administrative tasks such as attending medical staff meetings, completing peer reviews, maintaining necessary certifications, and supervising staff. Required qualifications include a Doctorate in Medicine, board certification eligibility, DEA prescriptive authority, and necessary CPR and safety certifications. Candidates must also possess a valid driver's license and pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- D., D.O. required
- Current Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Pediatrics, or eligible to be Board certified
- Prescriptive Authority in Indiana (DEA License)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
