Job Summary

Primary Care Physician providing inpatient and outpatient care to Veterans at the VA Hemet/Loma Linda system. Responsibilities include supervising mid-level providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants), supervising medical students and residents, participating in Medical Center committees and CQI initiatives, and engaging in ongoing professional development and CME. The role emphasizes comprehensive care across services including preventive medicine and collaboration with teams such as social work, prosthetics, HBHC, and audiology, with requirement to document in CPRS and participate in planning patient-centered care goals.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO medical degree from an accredited program
  • board eligible or board certified in primary care or family medicine or internal medicine as applicable to VA requirements
  • licensure to practice medicine in California or eligibility to obtain
  • inpatient and outpatient care experience preferred
  • ability to supervise mid-levels and learners (NPs, PAs, residents, interns)
  • strong documentation and CPRS proficiency
  • commitment to patient-centered care and veteran population
  • participation in CME and quality improvement initiatives
