Job Summary

Diagnose and treat medical conditions while providing preventive care, health maintenance services, and patient education. Conduct health risk assessments, manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions, and coordinate care with specialists and multidisciplinary team members. Evaluate the urgency of medical concerns, direct patients to appropriate levels of care, and participate in shared decision-making regarding treatment plans. Maintain accurate medical documentation, comply with HIPAA regulations, and supervise medical students and residents during clinical rotations. Engage patients in achieving healthcare goals through telehealth and electronic communications, while participating in quality assurance, performance improvement, and departmental committees.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related primary care specialty
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Hawai'i
  • DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Membership in good standing with The Queen's Medical Center Medical Staff with appropriate privileges throughout employment
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, team-based care

  • Experience practicing in an ambulatory care setting
  • Experience with population health management and value-based care models
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary care teams
