Job Summary
Maintain a financially viable clinical practice at a Mercer Medicine rural clinic in Hancock County, Georgia. Deliver full-time primary care services through Mercer Medicine, reporting to the Managing Partner on a clinical basis. Manage interdisciplinary healthcare education and clinical settings while serving underserved populations. Complete a criminal background check as part of the selection process. This 12-month non-tenured affiliated faculty appointment includes 40 scheduled weekly hours. The Mercer University School of Medicine trains physicians for rural and underserved communities across Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Hold an M.D. degree
- Be board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
- Demonstrate strong experience in working in interdisciplinary healthcare education and clinical settings
- Selection of the final candidate is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check
- Ability to work well with others in an academic setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience presenting and communicating medical concepts to clinical and lay audiences
- Familiarity and/or experience with medical settings and culture
- Experience working with stakeholders and communities in rural, medically underserved areas of Georgia
- Must be available for full time
- Must be available for a 12-month position
- Must report to the Managing Partner of Mercer Medicine on a clinical basis
- Must serve in-person
- Must be based in Sparta, GA 31087 or additional job posting locations
