Job Summary
Primary Care Paramedic role providing patient-focused care as part of a multi-disciplinary emergency care team. Responsibilities include ensuring safe, effective operation of vehicles and equipment per Manitoba regulations and Shared Health policy; collaborating with healthcare providers, allied emergency services, and community agencies; maintaining professional conduct aligned with LEADS framework; and delivering accessible, integrated care during day, evening, and weekend shifts in an in-person setting. Requires certification/licensure as a Primary Care Paramedic, BLS level C, and a Class IV driver’s license; bilingual capabilities and knowledge of Indigenous languages and cultures are valued. Travel/field readiness, adherence to clinical protocols, and compliance with regulatory checks (CRCs, Vulnerable Sector/Adult Abuse Registry checks) are required. Describes ongoing commitment to patient relations, digital health tools usage, and adherence to Shared Health policies and care maps.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Primary Care Paramedic program held by an accredited Canadian education institution, or a College of Paramedics of Manitoba approved equivalent
- Certificate of Practice with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba – Member in good standing, at minimum at the Primary Care Paramedic level
- Valid Class IV Manitoba driver’s license
- Basic Life Support (BLS), level C or equivalent
