Job Summary
Provide patient-centered primary care as part of a multidisciplinary health care team in the Dauphin EMS program.Responsibilities include safe operation and use of vehicles and equipment in accordance with Manitoba regulations and Shared Health policies; collaboration with health care providers, allied emergency service agencies, and community partners; professional conduct aligned with Shared Health mission and values; adherence to LEADS framework; completion of required checks and certifications; and demonstration of good physical and mental health to meet job demands for day, weekend, and night shifts. Desired credentials include pediatric emergency and neonatal stabilization training (PEARS, NRP) and EVOC.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Primary Care Paramedic program held by an accredited Canadian education institution, or a College of Paramedics of Manitoba approved equivalent
- Certificate of Practice with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba – Member in good standing, at minimum at the Primary Care Paramedic level
- Valid Class IV Manitoba driver’s license
- Basic Life Support (BLS), level C or equivalent
- Experience in pre-hospital care as an Emergency Medical Responder or Primary Care Paramedic
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages and/or bilingual in both official languages as required
- Knowledge of LEADS framework and adherence to related standards
- Travel willingness for field operations and exposure to high-stress environments
- Criminal records check and Vulnerable Sector check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
