Job Summary
Hourly, full-time Primary Care Medical Assistant supporting primary care providers in an outpatient clinic Monday through Thursday. You will room patients, document vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints in the EMR, prepare exam rooms, assist with in-office procedures (EKGs, injections, wound care), administer medications and immunizations under supervision, collect and process lab specimens, reinforce patient education, manage patient communications, help schedule follow-ups and referrals, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, monitor supplies, and adhere to infection control and quality standards while collaborating with the care team to improve clinic workflow and patient satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training
- Current Medical Assistant certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, performing EKGs, and collecting lab specimens
- Ability to work the established schedule of Monday through Thursday in an hourly, full-time capacity
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and all applicable regulations
