Job Summary
Physician needed for a full-time correctional medicine role in the Houston area. Responsible for intake assessments, urgent care, chronic disease management, emergency stabilization (BLS), and coordination of specialty referrals within a collaborative team including RNs, LVNs, Psych Techs, NP/PA support, and on-site radiology, lab, dental, pharmacy, and nutrition. Schedule is night shifts (6:00 PM–6:00 AM), roughly 7 shifts per pay period, with a predictable workflow and no hospital rounding. Population includes underserved patients with emphasis on continuity of care and population health, with higher-acuity cases transferred to Ben Taub Hospital as needed. Compensation ranges from $360,000 to $400,000 annually, includes relocation assistance and PSLF eligibility, plus comprehensive benefits (PTO, 401(k), medical/dental/vision/disability). Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD/DO)
- Board-certified or eligible in respective specialty
- Ability to work night shifts
- Experience in correctional health or primary care setting preferred
