Job Summary
Provide high-quality complex and geriatric care to residents and patients across settings while collaborating with non-physician practitioners and interprofessional teams. Audit up to 10% of practitioner medical orders monthly, manage a panel of 5 to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and assume medical directorships for skilled or senior living facilities as needed. Maintain high engagement with facility leadership, nurse practitioners, patients, and families to support care path compliance and prevent avoidable hospital transfers. Participate in company frontline and backup call processes for acute changes of condition. This role supports Abode Care Partners' mission to deliver integrated medical services to older adults and individuals with complex conditions across skilled nursing, assisted living, and home settings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and is a Doctor of Medicine
- Two or more years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare
- Practicing physician currently licensed under the provisions of the State Board of Medicine
- Active unrestricted licensure to practice in state of employment
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare support staff
- Ability to treat patients and their families with compassion and understanding
- Ability to work for long periods of time with patients who need special attention
- Ability to display patience with children and adult patients who fear medical treatment
- Excellent computer and electronic record-keeping skills
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and cognitive abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical medical experience of seven years or more preferred
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics
