Job Summary
Primary Care Certified Medical Assistant works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to deliver patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. Partners with patients, providers, and the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes. Responsibilities include completing advanced standard rooming tasks, medication reconciliation, closing care gaps (e.g., AWV, screenings), ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining a high level of patient experience. Required skills include proficiency with EHR systems, strong communication, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment, and adherence to PPE and safety protocols. Minimum education and certification requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of MA Clinic Academy training, active MA certification, and BLS certification. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must attend MA Clinic Academy training
- Active MA certification
- Caregivers must actively maintain MA certification (or transition to Medical Assistant title)
- Caregivers can be hired as Certified Medical Assistant if Certified/Registered
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience: One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting (preferred)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, knowledge of outpatient procedures and equipment
