Job Summary
Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Northwest Family is a full-time clinical role focused on patient preparation and support in a primary care setting. Responsibilities include preparing patients for visits, taking vital signs, reviewing history and allergies, completing medication reconciliation, assisting with the Encounter Guide to close care gaps (e.g., fall risk, depression screening, cancer screening, diabetic eye exams), rechecking blood pressures, and documenting in Epic for yearly preventative visits. Performs in-office testing (e.g., drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, oxygen studies, point-of-care testing), administers vaccines and injections within scope, schedules follow-up appointments, and collaborates with providers and the broader clinical team to deliver coordinated care. Requires medical assisting or LPN training with certification/licensure as noted, BLS within 90 days, and 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in primary care. Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic acceptable
- LPN license active in state of practice
- 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in primary care
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
