Job Summary
Set department production targets weekly and maintain target prices per item using the price grid. Price and clean furniture items to achieve maximum value, then supply the store with merchandise by testing appliances, pricing items, and displaying donations on the sales floor. Keep the furniture area clean and stocked daily by removing dust, broken items, non-saleable, and damaged goods. Provide customers with written receipts for purchases and assist with mattress inquiries. Accept donations and issue tax receipts to donors. Perform other duties and special assignments as directed, including sweeping and cleaning up 10 minutes before quitting time.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to recognize merchandise quality and price it competitively
- Ability to make decisions about merchandise quality, whether merchandise is saleable and when to reduce prices to sell merchandise
- Ability to interact effectively with customers
- Ability to write receipts
- Ability to observe the production process and to communicate with the supervisor and other team members to keep the production process moving
- Ability to present a positive Company image and be courteous to customers
- Ability to work as a productive member of a team
- Experience working with a diverse workforce
- Ability to work with individuals possessing developmental disabilities
- Ability to use good judgment
- Energy to take on fast-paced work
- Good listener
- Use upper body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to lift the arms shoulder height or above
