Job Summary
Previs/Layout Lead for a premium Marvel Animation streaming series. You will head the previs/layout team, translating storyboards into effective 3D camera work and staging, guiding framing and character blocking to support the Director’s vision and the previs supervisor. Lead and mentor the camera/staging team, resolve production roadblocks, and collaborate closely with editorial and animation to ensure seamless sequence flow. Responsibilities include hands-on lensing and blocking for complex sequences, overseeing layout and previs processes, reviewing work in Flow Production Tracking, and ensuring timely delivery within a flexible hybrid schedule in Vancouver, BC. Proficiency in cinematography principles, Maya pipeline, and Flow Production Tracking is required; leadership experience and a collaborative, empathetic approach are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of production experience in Previs, Layout, or Camera
- 1-2 years in a Lead or supervisory role
- Expert-level understanding of cinematography principles (framing, lenses, depth of field, camera movement) and character animation/posing
- Extensive working experience within a Maya pipeline
- Experience with Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid) for tracking, task management, and running reviews
- Legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada
