Preventive Maintenance (PM) Field Technician - Earthmoving

Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on earthmoving heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to extend equipment lifespan. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and labor hours by completing service reports and work orders. Coordinate with the Parts Department to order necessary components and ensure adequate inventory levels. Respond to field service calls at customer job sites, adhering to all safety protocols, DOT regulations, and company policies while wearing required PPE.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year's work experience involving mechanical repairs
- Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills
- MVR
- Intermediate engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic, and repair skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Area specific technical training
- OSHA and MSHA required training
- Vendor technical sites (Infocast, Liftnet, SIMSi, etc.)
- Ability to speak, listen, read, write, and type effectively
- Ability to reach, kneel, grasp, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb on and around heavy equipment
- Ability to drive during daytime and nighttime hours
- Ability to work effectively in stressful or high‐pressure situations
