Job Summary
Market substance use presentations to schools, community, and faith-based organizations in Macomb County. Provide training to coalition members on evidence-based substance use prevention community change models. Disseminate substance use information at health and public fairs, school open houses, and other community events as requested. Demonstrate full comprehension of management by objective (MBO) plans and meet quality programmatic standards. Adjust hours of work based on community needs, including evening and weekend shifts. Apply current trends in national and local substance use statistics to service delivery while working independently and within a team environment. Coordinate and assist with the implementation of prevention strategies to delay the onset of substance use in youth.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Recovery Oriented System of Care and Trauma Informed Services
- High School/GED
- Valid motor vehicle operator license
- Must be certified as a Prevention Consultant or Prevention Specialist (CPC-R or CPS) or be eligible for a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation upon hire
- Must be available for evening and weekend hours
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology, education, public health, human services, or criminal justice
