Job Summary
Empower local communities to promote alcohol/drug-free lifestyles and build supportive structures while encouraging coordinated systemic approaches to substance abuse prevention. Create and sustain systems that discourage abuse, reduce consequences, and encourage healthy behaviors in children, families, and adults. Provide general supervision to WestCare Wisconsin program participants, attend internal and external team meetings, and maintain daily data collection logs. Report unusual incidents to the Program Director, Regional Vice President, or WestCare Foundation as needed. Provide transportation as directed and assist with facility maintenance and general housekeeping. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while embodying the mission, vision, and guiding principles of WestCare Foundation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be sensitive to populations served
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Prevention Professional certification
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or other field related to the position
- Two (2) years of experience in a relevant position
- Experience in working with high-risk youth and their families
- Experience in the creation and delivery of events and public presentations
- Knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework
- Knowledge of child development, group dynamics, and behavior modification techniques
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to prevention and substance abuse
- Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among program participants, co-workers and community based stakeholders
