Job Summary
The Prevention and Education Coordinator develops and implements SARSSM’s prevention education programming across Cumberland and York Counties. It involves delivering prevention education presentations, curricula, and digital resources; facilitating trainings and workshops for diverse ages and community partners; participating in statewide prevention initiatives; representing SARSSM in prevention-focused meetings; coordinating outreach events; evaluating programming; and providing rotating on-call coverage for the 24-hour helpline with trauma-informed, culturally responsive support to survivors. The role requires frequent local travel, collaborates with Advocates, and may involve on-call evenings/weekends; bilingual/multilingual skills are preferred. Hybrid in-person and remote work structure; located in Portland, ME with travel across the specified counties.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in social work, human services, education, public health, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong facilitation, public speaking, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Canva, and database or client management systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel regularly throughout Cumberland and York Counties.
- Ability to complete SARSSM's 40-hour Sexual Assault Advocate Training and other required trainings.
