Job Summary
Preventative Maintenance Technician needed to perform PM duties and light repairs on a wide variety of aggregate/mining equipment at the Roanoke Shop, ensuring safety and adherence to maintenance schedules while servicing equipment across the Roanoke area. Role requires evaluating machinery for abnormalities, performing routine maintenance, changing oil/filters, taking oil samples, and submitting analyses, with weekend/overtime potential and capability to work with limited supervision. Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid DOT health card or be able to obtain
- Minimum of three years of experience working on equipment
- Ability to change oil, change filters, take oil samples, complete sample documentation, and submit for analysis
- Ability to plan maintenance in a coordinated method that doesn’t interfere with production schedule
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on mining and quarry equipment
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records
- Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts
- Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work
- Weekend work/overtime may be required
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs
- Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors
