Job Summary
Set billet length, furnace temperature controls, ram speed, and puller program for optimum production and quality. Inspect metal for defects like pick up, tear out, and die lines, adjusting operating setups to correct issues. Report ongoing production and quality problems to Foremen and Lead Persons. Assist with set ups, tear downs, and changeovers while minimizing downtime by ensuring bolsters and next dies are ready. Perform daily preventative maintenance, complete checklists, and execute safety measures including lock out/tag out procedures. Check equipment regularly, fill out necessary paperwork, and maintain a neat work area. Work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on rotating days and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience and/or training
- Prefer previous hydraulic press operation or minimum of metal machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply learned information to situations or circumstances using sound judgement
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to operate tow motor, function independently or in a team environment
- Possesses good verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, goal driven environment
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
- Must have regular attendance
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
