Job Summary
Operate a printing press producing flexible packaging, setting up equipment per production job jackets including ink formulations and color shading. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, safety guidelines, and OSHA requirements while wearing designated PPE. Track and record production, waste, and material usage, and perform required preventive maintenance. Handle hazardous waste and visually inspect print quality to identify variances. Work a 12-hour night shift with moderate to heavy lifting capabilities. Maintain an understanding of production materials and factors causing variance.
Required Qualifications
- 2 + Years of Machine Operating Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to sight ink formulas and distinguish between all color matches during the printing process through direct visual inspection
- Physically capable of moderate to heavy transferring of objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to access areas above head levels and work with both hands simultaneously
- Ability to receive, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions and reading a ruler
- Maintain an understanding of the materials used in production and their specific differences
- Visually inspect print quality and understand the factors in production which may cause a variance
- Possess a positive attitude and be able to work without supervision in a team environment
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines
- Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements
- Must be able to identify and understand customer requirements
