Job Summary
Independently operate web presses at full production speeds, leading press setups, makeready, and changeovers while making advanced adjustments to ink, water, and registration systems. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, or quality issues to resolve defects and implement corrective actions, ensuring all products meet customer and internal standards. Lead press crews, train Level 1 and Level 2 employees, and enforce safety policies including lockout/tagout procedures. Reduce waste and downtime through process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while coordinating with maintenance for repairs. Work rotating shifts from 6 am to 2:30 pm or 4 pm to 4 am, Monday through Wednesday, with opportunities for overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience as a Web Pressman II or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of web press systems and controls
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and quality data
- Proven leadership and training capability
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime
- Experience with advanced color management and control systems
- Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience leading crews or acting as lead operator
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to stand or walk
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs & sometimes up to 70 lbs
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel
