Job Summary
Run printing presses efficiently and safely, selecting random sheets to verify color, register, and quality while adjusting equipment to correct errors. Remove full pallets with hand trucks, flag skids, record production data, and perform make-ready adjustments for new jobs. Lead second pressmen and feeders in weekly preventive maintenance, cleaning, and roller changes. Maintain electronic records of production time, waste, and defective materials using ColorMeasure to ensure color specifications. Follow Safe Quality Food procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in root cause analysis for customer complaints.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must have basic math skills
- Must have working knowledge of printing press
- Must have Feeder/Operator and Second Pressman experience
- Must be willing and able to work overtime
- Must be able to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends
- Must be punctual
- Ability to pull full pallet weighing between 1500 and 2000 pounds with hand truck
- Ability to lift empty pallets weighing 25-40 pounds
- Ability to lift and carry ink buckets up to 35 pounds
- Acute vision at distances of up to 40 ft
- Acute vision at short distances (20 inches or less)
- Color vision
- Ability to lift rollers weighing up to 100 lbs (with assistance)
- Ability to lift and carry ink buckets (up to 35 pounds)
