Job Summary

Oversee daily workflow and overall performance of the press department, including web offset and sheetfed operations. Lead, coach, and develop Press Supervisors to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team performance. Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities for supervisors and department personnel. Develop and execute operational strategies that improve press performance, reduce downtime, minimize waste, and maximize throughput. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, print quality standards, and company operating procedures. Drive department performance by monitoring safety, quality, productivity, waste, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency. Partner with Scheduling, Prepress, Finishing, Maintenance, and Quality to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery. Champion workplace safety by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all company safety and environmental policies. Evaluate department performance using production metrics and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage staffing, workforce planning, and employee development to support current and future business needs. Serve as the department's operational leader, providing technical guidance for complex production challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in commercial printing
  • Previous experience managing or supervising web offset, sheetfed, or a combination of both in a commercial printing environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial print manufacturing, including press operations, print quality standards, color consistency, workflow optimization, and production planning
  • Demonstrated success leading supervisors and production teams while driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement
  • Experience collaborating across Scheduling, Prepress, Finishing, Maintenance, and other production support functions
  • Experience using production metrics to improve operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing leadership teams
  • Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
