Job Summary
Review production schedules to determine billet requirements, temperatures, and parts per billet for solid and hollow extrusions. Ensure proper billet temperature settings, direct press crew alignment on orders, and continuously inspect material for non-conformance issues like die lines, tears, and scratches. Address employee policy inquiries, provide training for new team members, and recommend improvements to the Production Supervisor regarding process, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Actively engage in continuous process improvement initiatives and participate in customer tours as requested. This role supports a team of over 900 delivering aluminum extrusion, fabrication, and industrial finishes at competitive prices.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and use measuring equipment such as: calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and digital gage tables.
- Must have experience reading blueprints and parts drawings.
- The position requires the ability to team-lift, load and carry items weighing up to 150 pounds.
- All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Desired Qualifications
- Combination of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in leadership and participation or completion of leadership program preferred.
- Previous press operating experience preferred.
- Normally acquired through three (3) to five (5) years of experience.
- Familiarity with ISO certification and processes preferred.
