Job Summary
Assist senior press operators with setup, makeready, and press operation by loading paper rolls, threading webs, and monitoring ink, water, and paper flow. Perform basic press adjustments, assist with changeovers and cleanup, and inspect printed product for quality issues like registration and defects. Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements while maintaining clean work areas. Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately and participate in on-the-job training to develop skills for independent operation. Work Monday through Wednesday in the 1st or 2nd shift, reporting to the Pressroom Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn web press operations
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Often standing or walking
- May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Often lift up to 40 lbs & sometimes up to 70 lbs
