Job Summary
Press Break Operator (night shift) setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets according to blueprints and production schedules. Read blueprints and technical drawings, select tooling and dies, ensure material readiness, program CNC press brakes, perform test bends, and inspect finished parts for conformance using calipers, gauges, and tape measures. Maintain clean, safe work area and document production activities. Requires 3 years of metal fabrication or press brake experience, ability to read blueprints, proficient CNC controls, strong math/measurement skills, and physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Position is full-time, in Altoona, IA, with day shift availability and relocation required before starting work.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in metal fabrication or press brake operation (required)
- Proficiency in operating press brake controls and CNC software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Strong math and measurement skills for calculating settings and verifying part dimensions
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal properties and press brake mechanics
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 25–75 pounds
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Computer skills for programming and documentation
- Adherence to safety protocols and use of required PPE
