Job Summary
Press Break Operator responsible for operating CNC machinery (including punch press/break press) to cut/bend sheet metal parts per job, loading materials, selecting tools, aligning dies, coordinating with other CNC operators, monitoring machines, using calipers/protractors for measurement, staging completed parts, maintaining a safe workspace, and training with CNC Foremen. Requires reading blueprints, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to visualize 3D parts, good math and basic computer skills, and a 97% attendance record. forklift certification is a preferred credential. Based on description, position is on the production floor in Stone Mountain, GA, hourly non-exempt role with formal safety protocols and continuous improvement expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of sheet metal fabrication or CNC operator
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excellent mechanical skills and aptitude in supporting CNC sheet metal equipment, the ability to visualize 3D parts from cut sheets
- Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others
- Attendance & Punctuality: Maintain 97% attendance rate with minimal tardiness
- Teamwork & Communication: Receive positive feedback from team leaders or operators on responsiveness and attitude
- Continuous Improvement Participation: Actively contribute at least one improvement idea per quarter
- Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or incidents; full adherence to PPE and safety protocol
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
