Press Brake Technician - Sheet Metal - 3rd Shift

Job Summary

Operate press brake equipment to fabricate parts, perform preventive maintenance, and program simple components while assisting senior mechanics. Manage material kitting, change dies, and operate shear machinery to support production goals. Maintain equipment condition, replenish consumables, and focus on scrap reduction through drop-off rack management. Ensure safety compliance by using proper PPE and following all rules, while reading blueprints and using measurement tools like micrometers and calipers. Flex to other departments as volume dictates and actively acquire skills to support high-quality standards. Work the third shift in a manufacturing environment with physical demands including standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to noise and temperature fluctuations.

Required Qualifications

  • Read a tape measure and perform basic fractional calculations
  • Competent in reading blue prints and reference drawings
  • Competent in the use of critical measurement equipment including: micrometers, tape measures, dial calipers, square, protractor, and micrometer
  • Ability to access necessary information from fabrication data bases, as well as make date entries
  • Knowledgeable of sheet metal quality standards and General Customer Expectations standards
  • Know how to correctly perform first part quality checks
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, and jib cranes as required
  • Knowledge of Lean Basics, 5S standards, the Seven Wastes, and how their application
  • Knowledge of all safety requirements associated with tasks
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be available for any of three shifts
  • Must be available for weekend overtime
