Job Summary
Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets according to blueprints and work orders. Select appropriate tooling and adjust settings for speed, pressure, and depth to ensure precise bending. Position and align metal accurately, then inspect finished products to verify they meet quality standards and customer requirements. Perform routine maintenance, clean machinery, and troubleshoot minor issues or notify the maintenance department for repairs. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting utilizing CNC files.
- Knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to perform inspections on finished products.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
- Willingness to undergo training and continuing education to stay updated with new techniques and technologies in press brake operations.
