Job Summary
Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets according to blueprints and specifications. Select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings for precise bending, then position and align metal accurately. Monitor operations to maintain quality and productivity, inspect finished products against required dimensions, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning. Troubleshoot minor machine issues or notify maintenance for repairs while following safety protocols and keeping the work area organized. Requires proficiency in CNC files, strong math skills, and the ability to lift heavy objects in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting utilizing CNC files.
- Knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to perform inspections on finished products.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
- Willingness to undergo training and continuing education to stay updated with new techniques and technologies in press brake operations.
