Press Brake Operator

Job Summary
Plan bending by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances. Program press brakes by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and calculating requirements using basic math and geometry. Set up machines by installing and adjusting punch and die, then verify settings by measuring positions and first-run parts. Maintain specifications by observing bending, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and adjusting controls while adhering to quality assurance procedures. Complete preventive maintenance, document actions in production logs, and communicate irregularities to ensure continuity among shifts.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience operating CNC Press Brakes
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Drawing and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to inspect formed parts with precision inspection equipment
- Possess some knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals
- Ability to learn or have some working knowledge of CNC machine code
- Ability to work well as a team member
- Understanding and support of company policies and procedures
- Safety conscious behavior
- Excellent punctuality and attendance
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs. frequently
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day
- Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing
Desired Qualifications
- Working experience on Accurpress, Niagara and Safan Darley CNC Press Brake machines preferred
- High School diploma preferred
- Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns preferred
