Job Summary
Manage up to 18 children daily with a 3-to-1 staff ratio, ensuring safety, organization, and nurturing interactions while supporting individualized developmental goals. Lead small group lessons, facilitate transitions, and implement strategies to prevent challenging behavior and teach social-emotional skills. Assist the lead teacher with classroom setup, record keeping, and family communication while maintaining state licensing requirements. Begin in early September; full-time role with health insurance, paid holidays, and regularly scheduled breaks.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled on Oregon's Child Care Central Background Registry (CBR)
- Is punctual
- attendance is exemplary
- Deals mindfully and flexibly with feedback
- Attends other training requested by EEP Director, Site Director, and/or Lead Teacher
- Acts to maintain required State licensing requirements
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Can act as a mediator between children
- Understands principles of child development and key preschool teaching methods
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a preschool teacher or working with young children preferred
- Communicates well with others
- good teaching skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Creative and practical
- Spanish-speaking preferred
- BS/BA or Associate Degree in education or relevant field preferred
