Job Summary
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with educational standards while fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment through play-based learning. Observe and assess children's developmental milestones to provide tailored support, maintaining accurate attendance records and documentation of progress. Maintain NAEYC Accreditation Standards by adhering to health and safety guidelines, supervising indoor and outdoor activities, and teaching hygiene practices. Communicate regularly with parents via approved software to share progress reports and address concerns, while training and evaluating assistant teachers and aides. Prepare compliance reports, manage children's record files, and conduct constructive evaluations for support staff as assigned by the Center Director.
Required Qualifications
- Meet State of Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) qualification standards for Teacher
- Option 1: BA in child development or early childhood education with six months of experience
- Option 2: BA in elementary education with six months of preschool experience plus six ECE credits
- Option 3: AS degree and ECE credential with one year of experience
- Option 4: CDA credential with one year of experience
- Meet medical, TB clearance, and criminal history requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
