Job Summary
Preschool Teacher responsible for creating a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-age children, planning and implementing curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards,Individualizing instruction based on observations and family goals, conducting developmental screenings and maintaining portfolios, promoting cognitive, language, social-emotional and physical development, and collaborating with families and staff to support children’s needs; leadership and coaching of classroom staff and volunteers; maintaining records and ensuring compliance with licensing and program requirements; exposure to nutrition, safety, and wellness practices; regular participation in staff meetings and trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Preschool Teacher A: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or Any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
- Preschool Teacher B: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or Any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
