Job Summary
Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment by supervising children at all times, conducting daily set-ups, and managing meal counts and rosters. Provide warmth and positive attention to every child while implementing behavior plans and using positive reinforcement techniques. Collaborate with the teaching team to uphold NBCC policies, obtain substitutes when needed, and attend scheduled staff development days. Develop meaningful relationships with parents through open communication and promptly report any child or staff injuries. Adhere to all state licensing regulations regarding supervision ratios, first aid certification, and physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 2 – 5 years of experience in ECE program
- 12 – 24 ECE units
- CTC Associate Teacher permit
- Associate Child Development Teaching Permit or higher
- At least 6 months classroom experience
- Ability to obtain a Child Development Associate Permit or higher within 6 months of NBCC employment
- Pediatric First Aid certification
- Pediatric CPR certification
- Valid Driver's License (if transporting children)
- Child Abuse Managed Reporter Training (online)
- Proof of Immunizations for MMR, Tdap & Flu
- Current CPR & First Aid
- Health clearance by a physician
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Range of movement including squatting, bending, reaching, standing, and sitting
- Proof of current Immunizations (Measles, Pertussis, Influenza, COVID-19)
- T.B. clearance within the past year
- Criminal Record Clerance and/or criminal records exemption (DOJ, CACI & FBI)
